Scheduled to premiere soon, "House of Cards" Season 5 is being bombarded with rumors about possible events that might unfurl during its coming season, including references to Donald Trump and the demise of key characters.

News of the renewal of the Netflix drama "House of Cards" Season 5 last January had fans speculating more about the coming season rather than the just concluded presidential elections. The initial rumors were about the loss of key characters in the show.

Michael Kelly, who plays Doug Stamper, henchman and Chief of Staff of Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) in "House of Cards," had various character shifts in the series from an alcoholic, kidnapper, murderer. and was presumed dead for a time, according to Deadline.

Kelly says that the show features loss of characters we love. The last season had viewers at the edge of their seats at the thought of losing Frank Underwood. He was a victim of an assassination attempt. He also stated that he has faith in the writers that no matter what direction they take, the show will go back to what "House of Cards" is.

Does this mean we are going to see Frank voted as President this time around, or should we expect Claire Underwood played by Robin Wright to be killed off? Alternatively, will Frank's failing health finally do him in, or will Claire herself kill him or have him killed? Symbolically, Claire could be Hillary Clinton to Frank's Donald Trump in "House of Cards."

Confirmed reports say Patricia Clarkson and Campbell Scott will both join the cast "House of Cards" Season 5. The two will reportedly play prominent roles in the series, though details about their appearances are being kept under wraps.

Back in September, Spacey was asked during his appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" who he is speaking to when he does his monologues on "House of Cards." He jokingly replied that when he looks directly at the camera, there is one person and one person only that he is speaking to, and that is Donald Trump, DailyMail reported.

"House of Cards" Season 5 is expected to premiere on Netflix come the end of 2017 to early 2018.
