Fans of the highly-acclaimed mobile game "Pokemon Go" have a lot of things in store for them as recent news indicate that there will be a lot of updates and content being rolled as the year comes to a close. With Thanksgiving and the holidays in December up ahead, sources took note of the major changes that will be happening for this iconic game.

For this month of November, fans are anticipating the major announcements about the Thanksgiving event that will be happening soon in "Pokemon Go," Slashgear has learned.

It was stated that the next big event for "Pokemon Go" will be happening this week up until Nov. 23. The source took note of the fact that this pre-holiday event will be taking place in three locations in Japan. It also reassured fans that those who are not living in that country can still expect some good news along their way.

As such, it was stated that Pokemon Lapras have begun appearing in numbers in the areas of Iwate Prefecture, Miyagi Prefecture, and Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. Moreover, it was pointed out that the spawn rates for these kinds of Pokemon have steadily been increasing and might stay that way until the end of the event.

However, it seems that there's more to it than that as it was also reported that these areas were heavily affected by the 2011 Tsunami. Hence, it seems that this is a way for Niantic to bring in more people to the area, which would hopefully have a positive effect to the place.

In other news, it was also reported that a lot more content will be coming in this December. Gen-2 Pokemons and other features, such as a PvP battle system, Pokemon trading, and baby Pokemons, will be pumped into the December updates for "Pokemon Go," BGR reported.

Wherever fans may be across the world, it seems that there are a lot of things in store for them as "Pokemon Go" gets new updates, contents, and events this coming holidays.
