Through the 2016 Staples for Student Program, global superstar Katy Perry and Staples worked together in helping hundreds of teacher bring leaning to life by giving $1 million in classroom projects through the non-profit organization DonorsChoose.org.

A $1 million donation has been announced by Staple in April to be given to DonorsChoose.org, a charity funding more than 800,000 classroom projects for teacher helping more than 20 million students nationwide, as reported by Business Wire.

With the help of Staples, 1,072 classroom projects have been finished across the country affecting 98, 609 students through giving 786 teachers in 402 schools with their classroom needs.

Moreover, customers of Staples nationwide donated $330,000 to DonorsChoose.org at www.StaplesForStudents.com and at Staples stores leading to a back-to-school season.

Staples executive vice president global marketing, Frank P. Bifulco, Jr., said that it was their pleasure to team up with Katy Perry in raising awareness about the importance of helping teachers in bringing learning to life for students.

According to Katy Perry, her team up with Staples in 2014 taught her the importance of supporting the nation's teacher and how these teachers are willing to dig into their own pockets just to support the basic school supplies their students needed.

The statistics from the Education Market Association which estimated that 99.5 percent of all public school teachers utilize their own money in providing classrooms need, most often at a cost of more than $400 annually driven the said program.

Charles Best, founder of DonorsChoose.org remarked that the continuous partnership of Staples for the past three years and the support of loyal customers as well as of Katy Perry in helping students and teacher made them feel really grateful. For him, this year he has felt that they made a lasting impact on the classrooms.
