It is believed that Microsoft has been forced to introduce the Project Scorpio during E3 conference this year to response to Sony PlayStation 4 Pro (PS4 Pro) called Neo. Although Project Scorpio has not been released yet, many gamers anticipated for the new console to hit the store shelves because it supports Windows 10 UWP games. Does this mean a threat to Sony?

Project Scorpio Early Launching

With the latest unveiling of Project Scorpio, netizens speculate that the action of Microsoft is caused by the PlayStation 4 Pro which has gathered positive reviews from the community, according to VG247. For this reason, the developers of the new console have also decided to add the Windows 10 UWP (Universal Windows Platform) games aside from the two titles available in native 4k today the Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3.

Furthermore, developers are urged to test the games in different configurations through a development kit called "one-stop-shop," according to PlayStation Lifestyle.  On the other hand, Microsoft has been reportedly spending $39.9 million for the 16 commercials to counter attack the PS4 Pro launching, whilst, Sony has spent $12.1 million for the 11 commercials.

It is presumed that Project Scorpio's selling advantage is the establishing of native 4K/UWP gaming which cannot be find in Sony PS4 Pro. However, this feature has been heavily criticized by the CEO of Epic Games Tim Sweeney by saying that Microsoft is trying to eliminate the rights of developers and publishers.

PlayStation 4 Pro (PS4 Pro)

Sony PlayStation 4 Pro is considered as a mid-gen hardware upgrade to be launch in November 10. The new console of Japanese tech firm features better performance and ultra-high definition display of 4K but lacks Blu-Ray drive according to Game Spot.

According to initial reviews of the console, PS4 Pro is great but it's not worth the upgrade if the player already owns a PlayStation 4. However, PS4 Pro comes in an affordable price.
