Director Tim Miller leaves "Deadpool" sequel and joins Sony Pictures to serve as executive producer to the live-action movie version of the Sonic Hedgehog game.

Miller will work with Jeff Fowler of Blur Studio and with Neal H. Moritz of the Fast and Furious franchise, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

 In 2014, the Hollywood Reporter said that the hybrid "Sonic" film was in the works. The magazine stated back then that two members of Upright Citizens Brigade sketch comedy troupe, Evan Susser and Van Robichaux, were writing the screenplay. Last February, SEGA Sammy Holdings President, and CEO Hajime Satome confirmed that the hybrid file is scheduled for 2018, according to Anime News Network. 

Patrick Casey and Josh Miller of "Golan the Insatiable" were assigned to write the script. Marza's Takeshi Ito and Mie Onishi will join Moritz as producers, while Tobi Ascher will be its executive producer. Andrea Giannetti of Sony Pictures will be the one to supervise. DJ2 Entertainment's Dmitri Johnson and Dan Jevons will serve as co-producers. Fowler will supervise the development of potential projects, according to Variety.

The center the "Sonic the Hedgehog" game is on Sonic and his friends Tails and Knuckles who runs around collecting points and items while preventing Dr. Eggman Robotnik in its global domination plans. According to Hollywood Reporter, "Sonic" once became one of the biggest gaming icons in the world sold more than 350 million units of games.

The whole crew of the "Sonic" movie are all well-known in each own specific areas of expertise which will make fans get more excited on the turn-out of this movie. And since, this is the directorial debut for Fowler, everyone would expect him to work out his very best.
