Freida Pinto is a famous Indian actress. She mostly appears in British and American movies. Although born and raised in Mumbai, India, she decided that she would become an actress at a young age.

Now, she is using her voice to fight for one of the most fundamental human rights that should be available for women. Women around the world are being denied of education. And Freida Pinto is campaigning for change.

She sets of to empower women as an ambassador of "Girl Rising," cites E Online. She knows what it is like to be treated unfairly and unequally. During her childhood years in India, sh e saw how women were being treated.

She opens up about her experiences. Pinto explains that her mother was a principal in a school and her grandmother is a teacher. Which is why, according to her, her upbringing was shaped by how important education is for children everywhere.

Freida Pinto says she never aspired to become a teacher like her mother or grandmother. But what she saw hits home. She knew that living in India means girls are going to be treated unfairly. And as she continues to become aware of what is happening in India, she finds the disparaging differences. Girls are begging in the streets just to bring in enough money for their family. She calls the situation sad.

Now, she s fighting for this right to education. She joins Selena Gomez, Anne Hathaway, Chloe Grace Moretz, Alicia Keys and more actresses to campaign for "Girl Rising." This documentary focuses on the women that overcame challenges around the world. Pinto explains that the film aims to raise awareness about the issues that girls face everywhere. She hopes that girls who see this movie will encourage girls to become more confident when they see that they can overcome their struggles.

For Freida, it is important to convey these stories of women to inspire all girls.
