Plans for advancing gaming consoles may be happening within the next 18 months. This is because of the ongoing competition between two tech giant companies, as they are taking turns in revealing their own brand of console game devices. Sony and Microsoft are going into further advancement for the new console generation, however this generation is also redesigning devices for 4K and VR gaming compatibility.

Sony is boasting its PS4 Pro, while Microsoft is proud of its Microsoft Project Scorpio. So which among these two consoles is better than the other? Details about the two consoles were already disclosed prior to its release, therefore giving its customers a chance to compare the specs of both devices.

In terms of 4K functionality, the PS4 and Xbox Pro Scorpio are designed to accommodate 4K resolution for a better gaming and entertainment experience. Based on the released features, it can be assumed that the Scorpio is capable of rolling out a true 4K content because of Microsoft 6's TFLOP. On the other hand, the PS4 Pro has the capacity to turn a 2x2 pixel into its 4K equivalent, therefore a 1080p resolution could be transformed into a 2160p resolution.

The Sony PS4 Pro is ready to be released on Nov. 10, 2016, but the Xbox Scorpio has not given a definite release date yet. Microsoft said that it intends for the Scorpio to be available within the holiday season of 2017, according to The Inquirer. Since the development of the console's hardware is still ongoing, it could be possible that its release date will be moved to 2018.

The PS4 is the latest high-end console that will be made available within 2016. If VR is your priority, then the Scorpio is worth waiting for. The Xbox One S and PS4 Slim are ideal devices for those who just wants interesting games, as posted by Express UK. As of now, it is still too early to draw a line between which is better between the PS4 Pro and Xbox Scorpio.
