Square Enix's "Final Fantasy 7" is one of the most awaited games of 2016, so when the game developer announced that it was indeed in the works, rumor mills started swirling all sorts of speculations around what's in store for players in the upcoming game and about "Final Fantasy 7" release date.

During a recent interview conducted by Dengeki PlayStation (via KH13), the director for "Final Fantasy 7" remake Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that they will continue to keep "Final Fantasy 7" remake under wraps until the studio releases the equally anticipated "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue." He added that they will keep a lid on other upcoming games until then.

Nomura also spilled the beans about the controversy plagued the decision to replace the battle system of "Final Fantasy 7," as it was changed from the ATB (active time battle) to the action-packed type. He noted that several "FFVII" fans prefer playing the game in its original ATB style; however, they have decided to go ahead with an action-heavy style for the remake. Bearing in mind players who are not very good at action-style battles, the developer have introduced systems that the forthcoming fans would love to delve into.

Moreover, for players who are well-acquainted with the action-style battles, the developer is gearing up to introduce a never-before-seen system that they can enjoy. Aside from this, Nomura warrants a more realistic Guard Scorpion that appears at the beginning of the much lauded game.

Nomura suggested fans to look forward to the 20th anniversary of "Final Fantasy 7" as he is planning to come out with something for the event. "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" hits the store shelves in January, and if Square Enix continues to remain tight lipped about other games until the aforesaid title is released, fans can only anticipate an official announcement early January.

Meanwhile, Attack Of The Fanboy speculates that "Final Fantasy 7" remake could make an appearance soon, as the official website for the 2017 MAGIC (Monaco Anime Game International Conference) announced Nomura's appearance at their upcoming event.
