Apple is set for an Oct. 27 event and plans to introduce new Macs.

Apple sent out invites that will be held on Oct. 27 at their Cupertino campus, wherein Recode sources confirmed that the company is planning to introduce new Macs at the event. The move is expected, considering Apple released MacOS Sierra a month ago but has not introduced new models running the OS.

Users also expect a revamped MacBook Pro, considering the machine hasn't seen a redesign since 2012. Bloomberg also reported that Apple could also introduce a new iMac desktop, a new standalone 5K monitor and a MacBook Air.

According to rumors, the redesigned MacBook Pro would look more like the retina MacBook launched last year. A new feature will be a touch screen at the top of the keyboard, replacing the function keys that can be configured depending on the app or program you are using. It could also sport a fingerprint sensor to unlock the unit, much like with the iPhone.

A refreshed 13-inch MacBook Air is also expected to be unveiled with a slight upgrade by integrating USB-C ports as well as adapting newer and faster components. Rumors abound that Apple might discontinue the 11-inch MacBook Air, but if this rumor is true and it receives an upgrade as well, then the Air would be staying for a bit longer.

Apple is also rumored to be working on a revamped iMac with AMD graphic chips. It is possible we might see the debut of the rumored 5K Retina display with an integrated GPU, as a revamped iMac with a 5K display would make sense to be released together if they are ready.

Mac Pro and Mac Mini was updated in 2013 and 2014 respectively, but it is unclear if they will receive updates at the event.
