Previous reports suggest that the high-end chip made with Pascal-based architecture will be introduced next year by the CEO himself.

GTX 1080 Ti specs have been heavily leaked for months, indicating a 12GB of VRAM with 3328 CUDA cores and 1503 MHz as the base clock. It is rumored to have a boost clock of 1,623 MHz.

Tech writers have also made speculations on the pricepoint. GTX 1080 Ti may come with beast specs and expensive price, probably between $630 and $1200. It is no surprise that GTX 1080 Ti is priced high due to the 4K gaming capability.

Nvidia has made an official statement that its CEO, Jen Hsun Huang will be delivering a keynote at CES on Jan.  4, 2017. It is highly likely that Huang will introduce GTX 1080 Ti at the biggest consumer event of the year. According to experts, the graphics card is said to compete directly with the rumored AMD RX 490, HNGN reported. However, the speculation made may be based on rumors since both cards haven't been released yet.

There has been split opinion over the upcoming AMD RX 490. It is still unclear whether AMD's graphics card will be Vega-10 or Polaris-based architecture. There has also been a debate whether RX 490 will sport dual-GPU instead.

A recent report suggests the high-end Radeon RX 490 will be a Vega card. TechFrag has claimed that AMD presented a slide detailing Vega launch in early 2017, PCGamesn reported. The Vega card would be a huge leap made by Nvidia as it reportedly features HBM2 technology, 3x more Perf/Watt than 28nm models.
