The long rumored Galaxy S8 lineup of Samsung is slowly becoming a reality as the said model is shaping up for 2017 release date. Here's everything you need to know about the next-generation smartphone of Samsung that is likley to come in two variants - Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Edge.

Software Production Started

According to CNET, Samsung has already started the production of Galaxy S8 software and is being developed in countries like France, Poland, Germany, Italy, US, United Kingdom, South Korea and China.

Samsung is expected to launch its newest flagship in 2017 during the Mobile World Congress. The same thing happened with the Galasy S7, the software production started around October 2015 and introduced in February 2016 at MWC.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Features

The most notable added features of Galaxy S8 is the Siri-like voice assistant called Viv AI, which has replaced Samsung's S Voice. This is after Samsung acquired the company Viv who contracted by Apple for the creation of Siri.

For the physical design, Galaxy S8 might be the first phone to be launch in 2017 without a physical home button. Samsung is perceived to hide the home button under the tempered glass or another option is display integration, according to Digital Trends. And removing the home button means coming up with a bezel-less smartphone.

For the display, Samsung is likely to introduce phones with an Edge display and regular flagship that will come in two sizes - 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch. It is presumed that the next-generation smartphones will be called Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Edge.

The two Galaxy S8 handset is rumored to have dual camera with 12MP+13MP rear-facing. An iris scanner is also rumored to be included as the new features of the phone.

Under the hood, Galaxy S8 will run Android 7.0 Nougat powered by an Exynos 8895 processor. Battery capacity will also be improved and USB-C port replacing the old ports.
