You don't get to see an NBA star walk into your school all the time. But when it does happen, it has got to be LeBron James.

University of Akron is not only partners with LeBron James as a business and education partner, he is also a student of the school.

"I'm signed up at the University of Akron for whenever I'm able to get a little bit of down time," says LeBron. This famous athlete professes that he loves to read books. He has been thinking about taking some college courses.

At one point he confesses that he loves world history. "Just the history of how everything was put together," says James. He thinks about "Who kind of ruled places at certain points of time. It's pretty cool," he adds. And according to a UA representative, James is indeed signed up to take some classes when he can.

A neat fact is UA's College of Education is now renamed to the LeBron James Family Foundation College of Education. Clearly, this NBA star has made a mark in the school. James' charitable LeBron James Family Foundation focuses on the education of at-risk, inner city youths in Akron.

Plus, James is giving kids from Akron the opportunity to go to college, for FREE. And this applies to those with challenging backgrounds, cites Cleveland. In this opportunity for a free higher education, James is giving selected kids a guaranteed four year scholarship under the "I Promise" program.

The "I Promise" program is James' idea that will support the tuition and the University of Akron's general service fee of $9,500 per year.

If you didn't know this yet, James didn't get to go to college. After he graduated Akron St. Vincent-St.Mary High School, the Cavs got to him for a chance to play in the NBA. Now, he wants to give kids the chance to graduate college. At home, he helps kis kids with their homework. For James, education is a big part of his life.
