Google Pixel XL and LG V20 are both well-built devices in premium class. Each has the pros and cons that potential users may want to consider before choosing one of them.

Google Pixel XL vs LG V20: Display and build

Pixel XL sports 5.5-inch AMOLED display whereas LG V20 is a 5.7 inch phone with IPS LCD display. Both handsets resolution is 1440 x 2560 pixels but Pixel XL has higher pixel density at 534 ppi.

LG V20 is encased in aircraft-grade aluminum, which makes the flagship impact-resistant. On the other hand, Google Pixel XL is 4 percent lighter and physically smaller. LG V20 has a masculine feel whereas Google Pixel XL is more of a stylish handset.

Google Pixel XL packs 12MP and 8MP cameras while LG V20 houses 16MP and 5MP cameras. Google's phone is awarded by DxOMark as the best camera, hence, albeit the lower resolutions, the integrated software in Pixel XL helps capturing better quality images. However, V20, with its wide-angle mode, can capture more scenic images.

The drawback of the Pixel phones would be the lack of memory expansion but Google already prepared cloud storage for that. Pixel XL offers 4GB of RAM with ROM based on your choosing: 32GB or 128GB. LG V20 gets the same RAM space with 32GB and 64GB ROM options, plus a dedicated slot for memory expansion, GSM Arena reported.

Both devices run Android Nougat but Google Pixel XL is able to bring pure Android experience to the device. Google phone is one step ahead of LG V20 with Snapdragon 821, wherein faster CPU simply means better experience in gaming and multitasking. Another disadvantage of the Pixel XL would be its non-removable 3450 mAh battery while V20 packs 3,200 mAh removable battery.

Both devices are two of the best Android phones in 2016, but if users prefer a newer, faster device, Pixel XL would serve it well. For those who want a premium handset with premium specs and practical features, LG V20 can be a solid choice.
