The newly launched Google Pixel phones have received positive reviews from the tech savvies. Because of this, the search giant is reported to have killed off the well-loved Nexus brand and dropped the Nexus 5X and 6P models from Google Play.

Many have fallen head over heels for the newly launched Google Pixel phones that they even forgot the phones predecessors. The Pixel phones under the hood specifications have full potential setting aside their design and price which are questionable according to Tech Radar.

Google Pixel phones are said to be the turning point of all Android devices. The handsets have opened a new era of Android operated smartphones and ended up being the king as others have started to mourn for the death of Nexus.

Two models of Nexus brand have reported to have been dropped out from the Google Play Store. According to BGR, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P have been pulled out from the store that if you search "Nexus" results showed live cases for the previous Nexus phones and not the recent ones.

Alongside Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, products such as Nvidia Shield, Google Tech C1-Glass VR Viewer, Mattel View-Master VR Starter Pack and Dell Chromebook 13 have also reported pulled out from Google Store. This incident has further lead to the conclusion that Google discontinued the well-loved Nexus brand.

However, a tweet is spotted from the Nexus Twitter Page saying that they will continue to support the Nexus users through software updates. But BGR noted that Nexus 7 is definitely not happening because the future of Google smartphones has defined by Pixel phones.

Regardless of Nexus discontinuation, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P models can still be purchased from high street retailers or from e-commerce store like Amazon. Nexus 5X can be bought for 250 pounds while Nexus 6P for 380 pounds.
