SpaceX founder Elon Musk has recently revealed his plans about sending humans to Mars within 10 years. However, will this prove to be a risk for the future of his other company, Tesla?

Slate reported that Elon Musk has unveiled the Interplanetary Transport System (ITS). He claimed that this plan can result to a city on Mars with 1 million people or more. Moreover, this could happen in less than a century.

Apparently, the SpaceX founder and CEO plans to create a gigantic rocket - one that is more comfortable and larger than the Saturn V, which sent humans to the moon. It is believed to go on orbit, be refueled using multiple launches, go to Mars, enter the planet's atmosphere using aerodynamic braking to slow down and land on its tail.

It is overwhelming, though, and scary since a lot of things could go wrong in the actual launch. According to Tech Times, Musk did admit that humans who will first colonize Mars should be prepared to die.

"The first journey will be very dangerous, and the risk of fatality will be very high," he said at the International Astronautical Congress. "Are you prepared to die? Then you are a candidate for going."

Earlier this month, a Falcon 9 rocket blew up and destroyed a Facebook satellite. This is not the first time that this happened. If Musk wants to send humans to Mars, he and his team at SpaceX must find a way to fix this issue.

News.com.au added that Elon Musk's massive plan for SpaceX will definitely affect Tesla's future. It was noted that, currently, the car manufacturer is already facing too many risks. It is losing so much money right now, money which it may not be able to get back in the future.

The publication reported that Musk has a lot of things going on right now. First, SpaceX has plans with NASA, aside from the Mars thing. Next, he recently took on SolarCity's debt, which is costing him money. It is highly likely that these issues will take its toll on Tesla.
