"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 storyline is expected to revolve around its original characters Meredith and Alex who are rumored to possibly form a deeper relationship than friendship. However, reports also claimed that the show will keep Alex and Meredith's relationship as purely friends while Meredith will find new love in Nathan.

It remains to be seen whether Meredith will be with Alex or Nathan in "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13. However, Alex had already established a deep connection with Meredith from the first season. Fans reportedly believe that they may unfold their relationship in the upcoming season considering that Alex is rumored to have issues with his relationship with Jo, TV Guide reported.

Alex is suggested to have a huge misunderstanding with Jo after discovering her traumatic past. Meredith will then empathize and be with him through his hard times especially that he is expected to face the legal repercussions of beating up Andrew DeLuca. Rumor has it that it is Meredith who will save Alex from being jailed in "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13.

Previously, Alex almost killed DeLuca with his brutal punches which is believed to cause a division among the staff of Grey Sloan as they take sides in "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13. This is also suggested to cause irreparable damages to some long term friendships especially that people may now view Alex as a violent person, Popsugar reported.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 may see a turning point in Meredith's relationship with Alex as she chooses to protect him against the consequences of what he had done. However, "Grey's Anatomy" star Kelly McCreary said that the doctors have been together for a long time now so it is just natural if they gather all the information first before they take sides. It seems that Alex will not be blamed for everything at all but fans will only find that out as the show returns on Thursday at 8/7c on ABC.
