Tu Khac Tran a 20-year-old Colorado State University (CSU) student is facing a misdemeanour charge of invading privacy for sexual gratification. Tran, a junior majoring in health and exercise science, is accused of recording video of a man showering in an on-campus recreation center.

According to an arrest affidavit filed by CSU Police Department, Tran recorded several other men showering on campus 'for pleasure and as a curiosity and the danger of getting caught.'

The most recent video was recorded on Tuesday, when a man was showering at the recreation center. The alleged victim 'saw a camera phone held up and aimed at him over the door of the shower stall.'

Tran from Denver admitted to recording at least three people at the CSU Student Recreation Center in Fort Collins in the past two months.

"He's a good man, and he would do the same for us," said Ashley Havlin CSU junior, adding that he's "not violent at all" and is trustworthy. "Anyone that knows him knows he's the most loving and caring person."

Havlin and CSU junior Alexa Forster said that they've known Tran since freshman year and believe that he wouldn't hurt people.

According to state court records, Tran doesn't have any past criminal records in Colorado.

Magistrate Matthew Zehe ordered him to stay away from CSU athletic facilities, recreation centers and the victim, among other bond conditions. Tran is set to appear at 9:00 a.m. Aug. 6 in Larimer County Court.
