Aside from figuring out how to pay for tuition, minimize student loan debt, decorate their dorm room on a budget and whether or not to bring their cars to campus, college students should also keep their health in mind. They should find out how to still be able to get a workout without breaking their budget.

There are several things that college students can do to stay in shape that are relatively cheap such as running, hiking and exercising on their own. However, a lot of us need extra motivation, instruction and equipment.

The cost of these things can easily add up, though. Mint shared ways to get the workout you want but still stick to your budget.

1. Crunch Fitness

It boasts of more than 100 locations from coast to coast. These gyms have inexpensive plans with monthly memberships running as low as $10 at the Crunch "Essential" locations. Fees vary by location.

2. Kettlebell Workouts

Students can search for a lot of exercise videos on YouTube on how to use these affordable cast-iron cannonballs. Plus, they're making a comeback recently.

3. Resistance Band Training

This is another exercise method that allows you to pump sweat at the comfort of your dorm room. A decent set of bands are reportedly priced at about $50. There are also great videos on YouTube for this equipment.

4. Daily Burn

The Daily Burn is perfect for first-timers in the world of fitness. Classes are only 30 minutes long. There is a free trial for 30 days and only cost about $15 per month afterwards.

5. Charity Miles

With this, working out is not just for yourself - you work out for others as well. For every time you go out running, walking or biking, one of Charity Miles' corporate sponsors will put a donation to your choice, from the program's 40 available partner charities.

6. MyFitnessPal

It is a calorie-counting app that serves as your food diary. The program can even suggest meals with ingredients you prefer.
