Timothy P. Keenan, an Ohio State University alumnus and businessman, has donated $1 million to Fisher College of Business to create a new generation of technology entrepreneurs and to support commercialized education for undergraduates.

The donation will create the Tim and Kathleen Keenan Family Entrepreneurship Curriculum and Program Support Fund that will be used to train students on how to convert their ideas into start-up companies and connect them with entrepreneurs in the broader entrepreneurial business community.

In addition, the donation through the Keenan Family Foundation will be utilized to provide innovative experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate students; implement real world new technology into the classroom, to coach practitioner instructors and to organise a speaker series.

"Tim Keenan is one of our college's most passionate and dedicated friends," said Christine A. Poon, dean of the Fisher College of Business. "With this generous gift, we envision attracting highly capable undergraduate students from all disciplines and across the university to share their creativity and energy - and develop ideas with the potential to impact us all."

Keenan is CEO of Keenan & Associates and co-founder of High Performance Technologies, Inc., an information technology firm that provides professional services to federal. He earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the university and M.B.A. degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.

"The entrepreneurship minor is a great way for all students at the university, not just limited to business majors, to learn skills and information that can help them create their own business someday," said, Devin Mills, a third-year in business with a minor in entrepreneurship. "It means a lot when alumni donate back to programs that helped them get to where they are today."
