Xiaomi Redmi 3S and 3S Prime: Specs and Price

Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime has been released earlier and a few months later, the cheaper variant came out to market - the Redmi 3S. Aside from the cheaper price, there is no significant difference between the two except the pricing and the internal memory it offers.

Redmi 3S just went on first sale on August 17 in India for Rs. 6,999. Whilst its high end Redmi 3S Prime has been in the market since last week at a price of Rs. 8,999. NDTV noted that the Prime series was one of the fastest-selling smartphone with 90,000 units being sold in just 8 minutes.

The 5 inch smartphone has dimensions of 720 x 1280 pixels with 294 ppi pixel density. It's packed with Xiaomi's developed user interface the MIUI 8. Under the hood, there is Octa-core 1.4 GHz CPU paired with Qualcomm MSM8937 Snapdragon 430.

The dual-SIM phone offers 13 MP rear shooter and 5 MP front shooter. The Prime variant has 32 GB internal storage with 3 GB of RAM whilst the cheaper variant offers 16 GB of memory and 2 GB of RAM. The hybrid smartphone lets you expand memory using SIM 2 slot, up to 256 GB.

 Other components include fingerprint sensor, VR compatible and 4100 mAh battery capacity. Both, Redmi 3S and 3S Prime run Android Marshmallow.

Lenovo Vibe K5 Note

Lenovo Vibe K5 Note is a 5.5 inch smartphone that runs Android Lollipop. Whilst the OS is a series older than Redmi 3S Prime, it offers brighter and sharper screen display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and its 401 ppi pixel density.

Packs with Octa-core processor and Mediatek Helio P10, K5 Note is equipped with fingerprint sensor and is VR-Ready as well. It's got battery capacity of 3,500 mAh. It's a bit disappointing since users expect at least 4,000 mAh battery like Xiaomi's Redmi 3S.

The hybrid phone uses SIM 2 slot for memory expansion and it is packed wit 13 MP and 8 MP shooters. When it comes to pricing, Lenovo sells Vibe K5 Note at Rs. 13,499.
