What is your favorite John Legend song? John Legend has been awarded the Grammy for several times already. His success has led him to multiple achievements in the field of music.

One such indication was when he returned to University of Pennsylvania - his alma mater. In 2014, he was enlisted to deliver the commencement address. During the same time, according to Business Insider, he also received an honorary doctorate because of his musical talents.

But that is not the only doctorate he received. He was also awarded an honorary degree from Howard University, not only for his music but also for his humanitarian work.

John Legend's success accumulated him a net worth of over $20 million. It was largely because of his Love in the Future album. His success and fortune soared as he continued to swoon the world.

Did you know that the husband of Chrissy Teigen turned down Ivy League scholarships to study English and African American Literature at University of Pennsylvania?

The musician, who was born in 1978, is so passionate about his craft. His childhood was mainly at home. He was homeschooled on and off by his mom. His love for performing started at four years old when he joined the church choir. He attended North High School. He graduated as a salutatorian.

He was offered admission to Harvard University, scholarships to Georgetown University and Morehouse College, too. But he turned those down because he wanted to pursue English as a major and emphasizing on African-American literature.

He was quite active in UPenn. He served as the president and musical director of the jazz and pop group called Counterparts. It was an a capella group. It was on college that he met Lauryn Hill. Hill hired him to play the piano on one of her songs titled "Everything is Everything." That was a hit song in her album "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill."

In time, he has won ten Grammy Awards, one Golden Globe Award and one Academy Award. Now, the rest is music history.
