Day 6 is the starting day for all badminton athletes competing in Rio Olympics. Here's the recap and prediction for the top seeds in men's singles.

Lee Chong Wei (Malaysia)

Lee Chong Wei has an easy game to start his quest for Malaysia's first gold medal. Starting a great play in Group A, the World's number one took 18-minute play to beat Suriname's Soren Opti with 21-2 and 21-3.

Tomorrow, Lee will meet face to face with Singapore's Derek Wong. Wong who has never beaten Lee before, said that he would prefer playing the top seeded athletes later but he is ready for the battle, Today Online reported. Lee might have a smooth walk to the semifinals to finally be tested by his powerful opponents.

Lin Dan (China)

Lin Dan and his gold-colored shoes seem to shine in the court. It goes without saying that Lin and Lee are each other's biggest rival and expected to meet in the final round to earn the title in Rio Olympics men's singles.

It is somehow predictable that on the first round of defense, Lin Dan would win the match. Playing against Austria's David Obernosterer in Group E - the Chinese athlete won the match in a rout (21-5, 21-11). And just like Lee, Lin is under pressure to win the gold medal for his country and repeat his London victory. Lin is scheduled to meet Nguyen Tien Minh from Vietnam tomorrow.

So Wan Ho (South Korea)

The summer Olympics for So Wan Ho has just begun as well. The South Korean athlete won over Jacob Maliekal from South Africa, with 2-0 victory.

Chen Long (China)

Whilst China's Chen Long, dubbed as the next Lin Dan, won the first match against Niluka Karunaratne from Sri Lanka, winning 21-7 and 21-10. For a complete Rio Olympics badminton schedule, BBC has listed the event schedule including the results.
