It rarely happens but when it does, it just becomes more than a coincidence. Mayim Bialik, you know her as Amy Farrah Fowler but in real life, she has a Ph.D. in neuroscience.

Before she joined the cast of The Big Bang Theory, she thought the show was a game show. She plays as a neurobiologist on the sitcom but her Ph.D. from UCLA is legit. According to Brit, this secretly smart actress took a degree in neuroscience and Hebrew and Jewish studies from UCLA in 2000. In 2007, she was able to finish her Ph.D.

Born in 1975, Bialik attended high school at Walter Reed Junior High (now called Walter Reed Middle School). She graduated from North Hollywood High School in California in 1993. To get her higher education, she attended the University of California, Los Angeles. It is interesting to note though that she had been accepted at both Yale and Harvard.

She chose UCLA so she can be close to her parents and did not feel like moving to the East Coast was a great move. She earned her Bachelor in Science degree in neuroscience with minors in Hebrew and Jewish studies. She further thickened her knowledge by pursuing a doctorate in neuroscience.

In 2005, she went back to acting. Her role in The Big Bang Theory maybe comedic but most of the things she says are scientifically accurate. She was a child actress back in the 80's. Her early roles were from Pumpkinhead. She also joined several movies and television shows. In addition, she also did voice over work for cartoon series like The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest and Kim Possible.

Now, many know her as Amy Farrah Fowler - the neurobiologist who has a relationship with Sheldon Cooper (played by the genius Jim Parsons) and the reason why they were together in the first place is because they were a match on an online dating service.
