The 2016 Rio Olympic Badminton will kick off August 11 and Chinese badminton team has arrived safely on Sunday including the two-time Olympic champion, Lin Dan.
Aiming to sweep the gold medal in the summer Olympic, Lin expressed his concern about the limited amount of time that he and his teammates have in training session. For the record, other teams have arrived sooner and started the training to get familiar with the court.
Previously, coach Li Yongbo talked to the media about the team's Sao Paulo training and stated that his athletes have managed to deal with the jet lag. There have been speculations and doubts among the public, as to whether China will bring back gold medals.
The powerhouse definitely has incredible power and skills but this time, they have to battle against much younger talents. However, 33-year-old Lin remains calm while still aiming to write history for three-consecutive Olympic men' s singles gold medal.
Meanwhile, the public's Olympic spirit is lifted up by this badminton rant
"And somehow, mothers from all over the neighborhood hear that badminton is being played at Mary's house. They're dropping off their kids - they know it's an all day affair - they know it's gonna involve 17 other sports."
That's how Mary Carillo described Olympic badminton back in 2004. The hilarious TV sportscaster has made it to the top as the best piece of broadcasting. Although it's been a long time, the video of her rant describing the strange game has resurfaced. Time explained the 4-minute video - showing Carillo's talking about anything from hitting a shuttlecock into a tree to pool sticks flying through the air.
