The essence of playing Pokemon Go relies on your stunts, running around collecting the animated characters. Thus, if you are planning to do it on your couch - meaning, you're using a cheat sheet like GPS spoofing, you should think twice before you get banned. Niantic might give no sympathy.

GPS spoofing Pokemon GO is not tolerated - it is considered unethical

Nintendo and Niantic do not take this lightly as the developer has reportedly issued soft bans on the cheaters. The GPS spoofing is more like an advanced trick that modify the game system. The Pokemon Go cheat uses built-in GPS to obtain false coordinates. Thus, players can visit any place without ever leaving the couch.

What happen to Pokemon GO cheaters?

Pokemon GO players who use cheats will be temporarily banned for minutes to hours as punishment for refusing to enjoy the madness outside with the rest. The players will not be able to collect PokeStops or catch Pokemon. BGR reported that the ban makes players unable to catch Pokemon as it will run away when hit.

GPS spoofing can be used to fool the app - making it think that you are walking miles every day or convincing it that you are somewhere you can't go. There were many reports on unapproved software installed for the cheat to run - enabling players to point any GPS location they desire. As the new update will roll out, cheaters who get caught might risk themselves of permanent ban by Niantic in the future, Motherboard wrote.

Meanwhile, the news on Pokemon GO server down has been wandering around the web. A group of hackers who called themselves as PoodleCorp, claimed that they are responsible for bringing servers down. Using Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS), they crashed the systems until servers cannot cope with the requests.
