Recent research shows the top universities and colleges where CEOs of America's largest companies took their education; ranked in first is the Harvard University.

America's Fortune 500 CEOs had their backgrounds checked and it was found that there are many ways to success, no matter what the educational background. Some of the CEOs studied engineering, some business, others majored in geology, art history, history, psychology and geology. The most populated was the MBAs (there are 173 of them in the total 500 CEOs).Also, many of them did not go to graduate school at all (at least 121 of the total) which includes Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon, Money Magazine reported.

It can also be seen that there is no dominating type of university. The top 25 college list of the most graduates that are now CEOs, only three are colleges with elite technology and science programs, five are liberal arts colleges, Four are from the Ivy League, eight came from public schools.

Here is list of the top ten Universities with most graduates who became CEO of companies that are in the Fortune 500 by Money Magazine:

Number one is the Harvard University. It was no surprise that Harvard would top the list. There are 10 CEOs who went to Harvard for their undergraduate degree. Harvard also has produced 28 MBA degree holder that are now CEOs of large companies. It was thrice the number of CEOs graduated from the next two universities in the list.

Harvard University also topped the same list on the global level because 5 per cent of the CEOs coming from the school. It was followed the University of Tokyo in Japan, The Indian University reported.

Next in the list was Cornell University in Ithaca New York. Most of CEOs from this university were graduates of industrial-related courses such as engineering and labor.

In the number three was the Pennsylvania State University which is followed by the Texas A&M University. Landed in number five was the United States military Academy in West Point, New York. Follows in number six was the University of Notre Dame.

Surprisingly, University of Wisconsin made it in the seventh place. The school's best programs were in engineering and business. It is one of the three public universities to break through the top 10 list.

Next in the list is the Princeton University which is known for producing political leaders. Follows ion number nine is the Stanford University which has very good programs in business, computer science, arts and athletics.

Landing in number 10 is a Midwestern liberal arts school, Miami University. It was a bit of surprise that there are as much CEOs from this university as those in MIT, Vanderbilt, and Yale.
