Novak Djokovic could possibly face Roger Federer in the Wimbledon semi-finals, as both are seeded in the same group.

Djokovic and Federer has faced each other twice in the Wimbledon competition, both of which are the 2014 and 2015 finals. This year ends the streak as both players could face each other as early as the semi-finals, according to the official Wimbledon website.

The seven-time champion was included in Djokovic's group for the Wimbledon draw on Friday. Djokovic aims to clinch his fifth consecutive major title.

Federer was seeded third in the competition as the seven-time Wimbledon champion had to miss the French Open due to a back injury. Djokovic's half of the group would go underway on Monday.

Djokovic's streak as number one in the men's tennis ATP rankings has major challenges along the way for the Serbian's fifth grand slam title for this season, as he could face a competition veteran in the half-way stages of the competition, according to ESPN.

This year's Wimbledon competition is Djokovic's bid to earn his fifth consecutive grand slam title. Meanwhile, another fan favorite, Andy Murray, was seeded second and joins fourth seed, Stan Wawrinka in the second half of the group.

Djokovic has proven that he has the skill to surpass Murray, as the Serbian managed to beat Murray in the previous Grand Slam finals. If Djokovic manages to go past a potential Federer-semi-final, the Serbian could also face Murray in the final stages of the competition as the Englishman is also a fan favorite to reach the Wimbledon finals, The New York Times reported.

Federer poses a massive hurdle on Djokovic's bid for a fifth consecutive Grand Slam title.

While Federer comes to Wimbledon from a semi-final loss at the grass-court events in Germany, the Swiss international has stated that he was satisfied with his performance as Federer was nursing and injury, as well as in the process of rehabilitation.
