343 Industries recently revealed its plan to launch map editing tool, Forge for Windows 10 platforms, thus adding to the curiosity of the game's huge fan base.

In an attempt to reduce some of their curiosity, the developer answered some common queries about the game's much talked-about Forge mode, in a post on Halo Waypoint on Friday, May 20.

Players can now play the Forge maps on Windows 10 along with others, however matchmaking is unavailable. In addition, they get access to all Arena multiplayer maps including those bookmarked on Xbox One. But the cross-play feature is inaccessible, rather players can share the Forge maps with others on Xbox One and Windows 10.

This update also debunks reports hinting a "Halo 5: Guardians" PC edition is in the making as the team behind the game denies again and instead diverts attention to the upcoming "Halo Wars 2" for Windows 10 as well as Xbox One.

Q: Can players play the Maps built in "Forge-Halo 5: Guardians Edition"?

According to 343i, players can not only build, test but also play their Forge creations with other players on Windows 10.

Q: Will matchmaking be available on "Forge - Halo 5: Guardians Edition?"

The developer straightforwardly clarified that the matchmaking feature is not supported on Windows 10, however this will not be an issue as players can still play with their friends on Windows 10 in Custom Games by simply inviting them into their sessions, Game News HQ reported.

Q: Can players access all of the multiplayer maps from "Halo 5: Guardians" on Xbox One?

Alongside all bookmarked maps created within Forge on Xbox One, all "Halo 5: Guardians" maps will be available. However, players need to keep in mind that Warzone maps are not supported on both platforms.

Q: Is it possible to cross-play amid "Forge - Halo 5: Guardians Edition" and "Halo 5: Guardians?"

The cross-play between Xbox One and Windows 10 is not supported, however players can still share Forge content on both platforms, according to the developer.

Q: Has DirectX 12 been used in "Forge - Halo 5: Guardians Edition?"

Yes. Actually "Forge - Halo 5: Guardians Edition" is specifically built on DirectX 12.

While answering a question whether this is an indication of a full version of "Halo 5: Guardians" PC edition in the making, the developer debunked possibilities of releasing "Halo 5: Guardians" on Windows 10, noting that their goal is to develop "Halo Wars 2" for Xbox One and Windows 10.

One player asked if mouse and keyboard can be used while playing Custom Games to test the Forge creations on Windows 10, or can they be used only while building.

In reply to this, 343i confirmed that both mouse and keyboard support will be offered not only in gameplay, but also within the creative experience in Forge on Windows 10.

In their official post, 343i also teased "more exciting updates" are slated to come to the Forge adventure in "Halo 5" on the Xbox One.
