"Nothing Compares 2 U" singer Sinead O'Connor was reportedly missing after not returning from bike ride. A day later, she was found safe and the Wilmette police stopped the search.

According to CNN, O'Connor did not return from early morning bike ride in Chicago suburb. Michael Robinson, a police officer who was sent out to check, admitted to have received a phone call regarding 'well being' alert on the Irish-born singer.

Describing further on the day she was missing, the police explains that O'Connor had last been riding a Raleigh bike that has a basket. She was wearing black parka and dark color leather pants with sweatshirt "Ireland" on its back.

The law enforcement uses social media to generate information and awareness. After the checks conducted in the area, observing beaches and parks, the police managed to find her. A neighbor, Rebecca Cain, admitted to see O'Connor out for a walk occasionally but does not know how long she has been living nearby, as reported by the Chicago Tribune.

The timeline published by TMZ explains that the search was finally over after at 1:18 p.m. Willmette cops found the songwriter in a hotel. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. At 12:15 p.m., official statement from the police says that she is safe and 'no longer listed as missing'. The police also have reason on O'connor missing that it could be due to 'suicidal reason'.

The 90s global star becomes famous for her song she wrote with the late Prince, "Nothing Compares 2 U". She has gone through a lot of trouble lately especially after a battle over her son's custody, 12-year-old Shane. Before 'Sinead O'Connor missing' becomes news, the singer often penned status updates and notes on legal issues, with her family members as the main subjects, for instance, Shane's father Donal Lunny and 28-year-old son, Jake Reynolds.
