Troy University football athlete, Nathan Harris, dies in motorcycle accident. The 19-year-old player was driving his motorcycle when his vehicle crashed to a truck on Fort Morgan Road last Saturday.

Releasing an official statement, Troy Athletics Departments explained how the tragic death of their student occurred, after experiencing injuries due to the crash in Alabama's Gulf Shores. Nate's passed away is shocking news for everyone in the university community including the student's former coach Ben Blackmon. Being able to know the student in person, the coach described Harris as a spiritual person - he would open up his Bible every day, the first thing in the morning.

Harris joined Troy Football team as walk-on. Current coach Neal Brown said that Harris was a caring person. Albeit the short time he spent in the football field, he made a huge impact to the team mates. Jeremy McClain, Troy Athletics Director, said of Harris' death as devastating. The school is in grief but giving full support to family and friends.

The former Gulf Shores quarterback's death receives streams of deep condolences including from a best friend, DeVante D. Williams, who is said to have known Harris and his family. Williams adds dedicated hashtag #ForeverBrothers as a promise to never forget his teammate.

The Gulf Shores High School Facebook feeds are also talking about Harris as one of the statement says, "Today the Dolphin nation lost a Dolphin". Some of friends who knew him recalling the memories they shared with the athlete - all of which admitted that Harris had given positive impacts.


The Gulf Shores Dolphin Athletic Club which regarded Harris as the finest student-athlete, encourages everyone to say a prayer for him. The post uses blue circle graphic with the club's jersey and Harris' number, 14. The Yahoo Sports reported that the cause of accident is still under investigation.

R.I.P to my best friend and teammate Nathan Harris. I love you and your family and I promise to never forget you.
