"Resident Evil 7" is still in a development state but the massive spike in the game rumors that it will be launched this year might not be true.

This year, Capcom confirmed the launch of "Resident Evil 2" Remake. Popularly known as "REmake 2," the game is set to debut later this year. However, the game developer does not give any clue on the release date of "Resident Evil 7."

It is unlikely to release two games in a year as it would not be commercially wise. Especially the fact that both, "Resident Evil 7" and REmake 2, have similar title. Moreover, it will be an odd to release two same titles in a year.

According to the iDigitalTimes, producer Masachika Kawata refused to reveal more on the horror sequel. He said that "Resident Evil 7" update is not going to be the topic albeit asking fans to stay tuned. It is a hint that the horror franchise is coming.

As for the "REmake 2", VideoGamer has obtained direct information from the developer. The game is now in a cycle for development and they hope that the highly-anticipated game could give better experience.

The fans are expected to hear the news during Electronic Entertainment Expo in June 14-16, 2016. The speculations around the Resident Evil installment said that the game will be released later this year. However, Capcom made a promise on the REmake 2 premiere instead, by confirming that the official announcement of this game will be made at the E3 2016.

For the record, Capcom has separated its developer teams in making both games, but launching them together would mean bad for business, Yibada learned. The fans sentiment on the disappointing previous installments might be the reason of "Resident Evil 7" delay. The developer has been seeking inspirations from the previous games to develop the horror franchise. As for now, fans should remain patient waiting for confirmation.
