LinkedIn released a career app called LinkedIn Students to help college and university students land a job after they graduate. The app only takes 5 steps where students swipe the screen to let them find out things about their intended career using their educational data such as majors. However, for first time users, graduating students will only have one job posting at the start.

The LinkedIn Students App just launched this week and it is available for iOS and Android. College and university students have the process of job hunting made easier through Tinder-wipe swiping through the app. According to LinkedIn's blog post, they match students using the insights they have collected from over 400 million working professionals in professional social networking site.

"Think of it as your personal job exploration guide, providing tailored jobs related recommendations based on real data from the career paths of hundreds of millions of successful professionals," Ada Yu of LinkedIn  wrote on the blog. "You can use these insights to discover and explore career opportunities you hadn't considered or even known were possible!"

Yu adds that fresh college or university graduates find job hunting to be overwhelming. CNET reports that LinkedIn aims for the LinkedIn Students App to be user-friendly, compact and one that students can use while on the last leg of their tertiary education. The outlet adds that the increasing unemployment rate among college students in the US is a little concerning. From 5.5 percent in the 2007, it has now reached 7.2 percent in 2015.

Fortune reports that LinkedIn is looking to partner with schools and institutions to expand their job listings for students posted on their website.
