Three-time academy Award-winning actress Meryl Streep has one more award to add to her long list of accolades, The Indianapolis Star reported.

Streep will receive an honorary doctoral degree from Indiana University's Bloomington Campus, adding another trophy to her collection of awards, including eight Golden Globe Awards and two Emmy Awards.

"Indiana University is delighted to recognize Meryl Streep, one of our nation's greatest living actors, for her extraordinary talents, her highly visible place in the arts and her role as a powerful advocate for women, as well as for her longstanding connection to our institution," Michael A. McRobbie,  president of the university, said in a statement.

McRobbie said that by giving her this degree, the university is welcoming her to the "IU family" and paying tribute to her remarkable contributions to cinema and to the fabric of American culture while also recognizing Indiana University's  "own rich academic traditions in film and theater."

"Meryl Streep has established herself as one of the leading actors in cinema as well as an international ambassador for the art form," IU Cinema director Jon Vickers said in a statement. "She believes in the transformative power of art, which has influenced the choices she has made regarding her roles."

Streep will receive the honorary degree during a ceremony in the beginning of her Jorgenson Guest Filmmaker Lecture at 3 p.m. at Indiana University's Auditorium, the AP reported.

In the weeks leading up to her arrival, Indiana University Cinema will screen a short retrospective of Streep's work, including her Oscar-winning films "Sophie's Choice" and "The Iron Lady."
