Galaxy S8 will Crush iPhone 8 Sales in Q4 2017; Delayed Launch Reportedly to Perfect Chipset, Battery Performances

By

Samsung is expected to introduce Galaxy S8 this March but fans will reportedly have to wait for a few months later to purchase.

Samsung does have a plan to release Galaxy S8 albeit keeping its lips tight about the timeframe. A recent report has indicated that the company's plan may not exceed smoothly.

The shortage in Snapdragon 835 chipset is said to be the cause of the delay, according to Digitimes. The media outlet reported that Samsung is facing a problem with its 10nm built technology. it's reported that the process received disappointing yield rates. It eventually affects the Snapdragon 835 chip and Samsung's Exynos 8895 manufacturing process.

That being the case, Samsung will delay the global launch but could still use a March date for the official unveiling. The disappointing yield rates seem to affect Apple as its A11 chipset will also be built on 10nm process, according to BGR.

Meanwhile the Snapdragon 835 unit shortage will affect the numbers of smartphone being manufactured - and it can be argued that Galaxy S8 launch could possibly be delayed, unintentionally coinciding with Apple's iPhone 8 this year.

Previously, Samsung will reportedly watch LG G6 sales closely before deciding Galaxy S8 pre-order schedule. It seems like the South Korean giant is making timid steps to avoid mistakes. As a reminder, Galaxy Note 7 massive debacle has caused damage to the smartphones as well as the consumers trust. For the next launch, Samsung has promised to perform 8-point battery check for its future devices. Each upcoming flagship's battery will go through a set of tests to ensure it is safe for use.

The safety check is done by disassembling the battery and run it through a test for two weeks while monitoring if there is any unusual spike, according to Greenbot.

With all of that being said, Samsung is expected to ready the Galaxy S8 for launch, sometime in April with product availability at a later date this year. It will come equipped with 4 gigs of RAM, 12 MP / 8 MP camera sensors and 3,000 mAh battery.
