‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 5 Spoilers: Lea DeLaria Explains ‘Amicable’ Split With GF

By

"Orange is the New Black" star Lea DeLaria was supposed to marry longtime girlfriend, fashion editor Chelsea Fairless, on Jan. 8. Things, however, went south for the couple and DeLaria announced that they are splitting up after their four-year relationship.

DeLaria revealed the "amicable" split via a humorous Instagram post just days before the supposed wedding. The 58-year-old actress shared their engagement photo, which was edited to make it look like they were standing beside Hollywood royals Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor. They all donned wedding get-ups in the image.

Check out the post below. The 1987 hit song "It Must Have Been Love" can be heard in the video.

In a lengthy caption accompanying the post, DeLaria pleaded the public to "exclude us from the tragic and basic celebrity breakup narrative." The actress added that she and Fairless "were happy together for four years and will remain in each other's lives," and that they are looking forward to "finding new ways to torture each other." DeLaria and Fairless got engaged in February 2015.

"Orange is the New Black" will keep DeLaria occupied in the aftermath of her breakup with Fairless. The popular show's fifth season is expected to air in June on Netflix, according to Cinema Blend.

Regular cast members such as Taylor Schilling (Piper), Laura Prepon (Alex), Selenis Levya (Gloria Mendoza) and Kate Mulgrew (Red) are all expected to return for Season 5. Correctional Officer Humphrey (Michael Torpey), meanwhile, may not return given that Season 4 left him kneeling on the ground with Daya (Dascha Polanco) pointing a gun at him.

However, it's possible that Officer Humphrey won't be the one getting the bullet. Other major "Orange is the New Black" characters such as Red, Taystee (Danielle Brooks), Judy King (Blair Brown) and Flaca (Jackie Cruz) were present in the gun-toting scene (except Piper and Alex, who both escaped the riot) and anyone of them could get shot with one uncalculated move.

Laverne Cox's Sophia may return at a bigger capacity in the fifth "Orange is the New Black" season after being largely absent in Season 4. Sophia is now out of the SHU, though more inmates are expected to take her place after the prison riot that occurred in the Season 4 finale.

What are your thoughts about the Season 4 finale of "Orange is the New Black?" Do you think Officer Humphrey would get shot, or someone else? Tell us below!
