Oxford University Interviews Nobel Prize Winner Malala Yousafzai As Potential Philosophy Student

By

In order to get accepted into an Ivy league school, many potential students have to undergo intense interviews. This is no exception for a Nobel Prize winner such as Malala Yousafzai. She is a known Pakistani activist for female education and she is the youngest ever Nobel Prize Laureate.

Malala Yousafzai's past is filled with terror. She lived behind the Taliban occupation. She has witnessed their cruelty and injustice in order to take over her valley. Under a pseudonym, Malala wrote a blog that details their maltreatment and also features her thoughts on girls' education. Her being outspoken on the issues that mattered meant her life was on the line.

Boarding a bus, a gunman pointed the barrel at her face. She was shot in the head three times but survived, as reported by the New York Times. Now, she aims to get a higher education. At the age of 19 years old, she is planning to graduate high school and pursue Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University.

These three majors are usually the degrees chosen by many of Britain's politicians, as reported by News Week. But she confessed that her interview at Oxford University was not easy. Like any other teenager, she was anxious and excited. For a young girl to have gone through hardships like her, getting eager about her higher education can be surprising for many.

But after her recovery from the dreadful gun shooting, she wanted to make sure that her second chance in life was not wasted. She is planning to become a full-time activist or politician and these degrees at Oxford University can help her achieve that.

Malala Yousafzai is determined to get the best education in order for her to make a difference. She will be spending the next few years figuring out what she wants to do after she graduates. But she already has a few career paths in mind. She has thought of becoming a lawyer, a politician or even the prime minister of Pakistan.
