Close

As the "Vampire Diaries" season 8 nears its slated return on television, fans are getting more excited than ever. It's not just the fans because even the mainstays of the show couldn't wait for season 8, especially now that Nina Dobrev is coming back to the "Vampire Diaries" scene.

There were reports that Dobrev is already done shooting her scenes for the episode 12 where she plays the role of Katherine. But if this is true, what happens to her role as Elena then? Anyway, fans are more excited to see the reunion of Katherine (Nina Dobrev) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) in the "Vampire Diaries" season 8.

Julie Plec didn't confirm the return of Nina although there were hints. Instead, Plec confirmed that Caroline and Stefan will go on with their relationship despite the rumored return of Katherine. It has been expected that the "Vampire Diaries" season 8 will serve as a closure to all of the loosed ends of the characters of the show. And if Nina Dobrev will return as Katherine, maybe it will also be a closure to Katherine and Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley).

With all the big things about to happen to the characters of the "Vampire Diaries" season 8. In an interview by Variety, Ian Somerhalder also shared what he wanted to see in the finale. He said that it is best for Mystic Falls if those guys who ruined the live of the people in the town and all the vampires and witches would just go away.

He also added that he'd love to see the two boys, perhaps Damon and Stefan to just go down the Caribbean or somewhere and when the sun comes up, they'll just turn into ash. For the sake of humanity, it would be better of the two boys would just disappear after all the deaths and violence they have caused in the "Vampire Diaries."
