‘Vikings’ Season 4B Returns With Bolder Theme; Lagertha To Find New Love with Another Female Character?

"Vikings" Season 4B will return with new revelation as Shield Maiden Lagertha is rumored to have found a new love interest in the person of Astrid (Josefine Asplund).

According to Michael Hirst, Lagetha has come to develop trust issues with men given her three failed relationships. It can be remembered that his first husband cheated on her while the second abused her and the third tried to get her throne away from her. Entertainment Weekly reported that her association with Astrid is a necessary result of his lost trust to men.

In an interview by the Out Magazine with Katheryn Winnick who plays the role Lagertha, the actress said that with all her past relationships, it only makes sense that she finds comfort in another human being. She also made it clear that she did not play the character as a lesbian, adding that Lagertha and Astrid's relationship is more of an emotional bond rather than sexual. Accordingly, Astrid is younger than her and she groomed her to become a warrior so their relationship does not just revolve in sexual or romantic sphere.

Inquisitr reported that Lagertha will ask for an advice from the Seer (John Kavanagh). She is believed to have gotten news about Ragnar's return. It was previously revealed that Ragnar's return will give him a hard time reclaiming his throne, with only Ivar supporting him while the rest is trying to prevent him from accomplishing his plans. Another exciting scene in the upcoming season is Bjorn's quest to conquer Mediterranean with some of his brothers.

Lagertha and Aslaug's face-off will also be featured in the upcoming season, and the anticipated meeting of the two is one which Winnick describes as pretty epic and memorable. According to earlier spoilers, many characters will return in "Vikings" Season 4B with a totally different psyche and purpose.
