The largest wireless carrier in the U.K., EE has finally announced a bigger coverage of its 4G Network. The 4G Network has now covered more land area compared to the current 3G Network across the whole country.

EE has switched to 800 MHz spectrum capacity over 700 cell sites within the country covering over 5,000 square kilometers of 4G 'hot spot'. In just overnight, the indoor coverage was improved in over half million homes. In addition, EE also has hopes to further improve the internet service before the year ends by adding 800 MHz capacity to over 3,000 sites, Engadget reported.

In an open letter, EE CEO Marc Allera has also called out their competitors to provide greater clarity to their customers so they can make calls and use data in U.K. by making geographic coverage the standard measurement of the industry according to EE's website.

Moreover, the CEO of EE also pledged that starting January 2017, they will be reporting all coverage in terms of geographic locations so as to submit to the call for better reporting on coverage and mobile experience.

The carrier has proven that they are serious in their promise to bring clear coverage on their customers as the company will now no longer be using population as a coverage measurement in isolation whenever they communicate to their customers.

EE will also start publishing updates on geographical coverage and speed of data by major roads and by country. They will also be working with Ofcom so they can get information on coverage and quality as well as consumer advice on the device's role in the network experience, according to EE.

Among the places which received EE's 4G Network for the first time were Somerset, Shropshire, Oban, Glasgow Berkshire, Derbyshire and Snowdonia.

These recent steps made by EE were just part of their long term goal which is to cover 95 percent of U.K. by 2020.
