It looks like Xiaomi is gearing up for Mi 5c launch as a leak spills out the pricepoint of the affordable smartphone.

Xiaomi Mi 5c price leaked

Based on what's mentioned on a leaked promotional poster, the handset price is set at $144 during the pre-sale, Xiaomi Today reported. It is not yet confirmed whether there will be an increase after it is launched to public. Judging from the pricepoint, Xiaomi Mi 5c is 50 percent cheaper than Mi 5s.

Xiaomi has been flooding the smartphone industry with somewhat, overly-specced affordable devices, such as the recently launched Redmi 4a, Mi Mix and Mi 5. This is why anything that the company is up to, would be highly-anticipated by the tech community.

Xiaomi Mi 5c rumored specifications

Mi 5c aka Xiaomi Meri is said to pair 3 GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage. MIUI 8 interface tops Android Marshmallow and Helio P20 processor under the hood. Another report has learned that the benchmark score 758 for single core and 3043 for multi-core. This is a decent result with octa-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz.

Another interesting rumor to take note, would be the presence of E-Ink display. This feature allows Mi 5c to come with impressive contrast and wide angle viewing while being power-efficient, BGR has learned. Other included components are USB Type C and fingerprint scanner.

The leaks, however, do not state any screen size detail although the many are expecting a similar panel to Mi 5 with 5.15-inch screen and Full HD resolution, instead of 5.5 inches as rumored previously.

Xiaomi Mi 5c release date

Xiaomi is expected to host a special event to unveil Xiaomi Mi 5c next month. The lowest-end of Mi 5 will debut on Dec. 12.
