AMD is reportedly planning to release the Vega 10 and 11 sometime in late 2106 or 2017. It is expected that the upcoming AMD GPU will compete with the NVIDIA Pascal GPU GTX 1070 and 1080.

AMD Vega 10 & 11 More Budget Friendly Than NVIDIA's

The NVIDIA GTX 1080 is definitely a high-end but pricey. The GTX 1070 is much more affordable but the AMD Vega 10 is aimed at customers looking for a high-end GPU that does not burn a big hole in the pocket such as the GTX 1080.

AMD plans to unveil Vega 10 and 11 next year as replacement for the current Polaris 10 and 11, according to Fudzilla. The Vega GPU series will be the first to make use of High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) version 2. However, AMD has not yet made it clear if the Vega GPU is composed of whole stacks HBM2 or simply top portion. Industry observers are more inclined to believe in the former, according to wccftech.

An HBM2 GPU means bigger bandwidths, more allocations for VRAM and a more energy efficient in contrast to its predecessor or the GDDR5.

AMD Vega 10 Seen As Replacement For Fury Series

The Vega 10 is also set replace the Fury series which is AMD's high-end GPU because of its HBM2 feature. Even the Polaris can be seen as obsolete compared the Vega series since its more energy efficient.

It is believed that the AMD Vega 10 graphic card can support up to 4096 stream processors, numerous SKU and several varying VRAM configurations. It can also be compared to the Radeon Pro Duo (512GB per second x 2) when it comes to bandwidth. The Vega 10 has an HBM2 that could accommodate up to 32 GB of VRAM.
