‘The Originals’ Season 4 Is The Show’s Last?; Caroline, Klaus Relationship Will Save The Show? [VIDEO]

"The Originals" Season 4 has been reduced to only 13 episodes, compared to previous seasons that ran with 22 episodes each. This has prompted fans to worry about the show's possible cancellation.

One of the factors that contributed to the reduction of episodes is the show's poor ratings, as "The Original" Season 3 only scored a 0.39 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which is lower than the ratings for Season 2.

However, The CW is reportedly coming up with various ideas to salvage the show, one of which is their recent deal with Netflix. The deal allows all The CW shows to become available on Netflix just eight days after each program's season finale, Variety reported. It is rumored that the original vampire family will move to the online streaming platform after "The Originals" Season 4.

Interestingly, some of the characters from "The Vampire Diaries" might move to "The Originals" after the final season wraps up. One of the characters rumored to move from Mystic Falls to New Orleans is Caroline, who appears to still have unfinished business with her former flame, Klaus.

A particular scene between Klaus and Caroline rekindled interest in Klaroline, and some fans have been aching to see the two reunite. When asked what the deal was between the former lovers, executive producer Michael Narducci told TVLine, "I don't want to speak for what they're doing on [The Vampire Diaries], but it certainly seemed like Klaus was saying to Caroline that he would always care for her and respect her, but that he understood she had moved on."

Although Caroline is very much in love with Stefan right now, it appears that the doors are not yet closed for her and Klaus. Narducci also cited one instance where Stefan told Klaus he hopes he never sees him again, to which Klaus replied, "Do right by Caroline, and if you do that, you'll never have to worry about me again." With that, it is evident that Klaus still wants what's best for Caroline.

Meanwhile, things are really heating up for the Mikaelsons in New Orleans. Right now, every member of the family is knocked out and Klaus is staked and held captive by Marcel. They're going to need all the help they can get to win their battles, so maybe some reinforcement from Mystic Falls will put them at a major advantage.
