'Red Dead Redemption 2' Release Date: Sequel Coming This Year With New Title [VIDEO]

Rockstar Games is gearing up to launch the sequel of the hit western-themed action game, "Red Dead Redemption" but with a different moniker.

Despite lack of reports regarding Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive's plans for the touted "Red Dead Redemption," players are still hoping that a sequel will arrive sometime in near future. Rumor mills have been swirling speculations around "Red Dead Redemption 2" release date indicating that the upcoming sequel will be launched in 2017.

The speculations stem from a recent tweet from Rockstar Careers, which noted that the game studio is looking for an operation project manager. According to the said tweet, the position would center on management of an entire project starting from its concept down to its distribution and testing. The position will also entail making sure that their game service would be perfect and perform well.

However, Rockstar Games opted to remain tight lipped regarding the advertised project. This fueled speculations among avid "RDR" fans that the studio is hard at work on sequel for the fan favorite game, and that "Red Dead Redemption 2" release date is just around the corner.

The highly anticipated sequel is expected to be available on various platforms including PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox Scorpio. Rumors are rife that the game will feature a brand new name.

Moreover, the upcoming sequel's world map is said to feature an even larger open world that players can delve into. The map shows a city called the Roanoke Valley, and Kahuta, which coincides with the actual settlement of the Native American tribe. "Red Dead Redemption 2" characters are said to be able to swim and also drive vehicle in water, TechRadar reported.

Meanwhile, an anonymous tipster informed FragHero that an HD remake of "Red Dead Redemption" is likely to hit the store shelves before the year ends. Moreover, the post claims that the sequel has been under development for over four years and it is titled, "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West."
