Microsoft has confirmed that Surface Pro 5 won't appear in the upcoming event. When is the release date?

Microsoft Surface Pro 5: No show on October event?

Later this month, Microsoft will hold a big event, showcasing OEM devices. The invite says "Please join us to see what's next for Windows 10".

With that being said, the fans should expect announcements of software updates in Windows 10, Xbox news but do not expect any introduction of the next Surface Pro tablet. The Verge has spoken to a source and obtained some information about the iteration. Microsoft is not planning to reveal Surface Pro 5 on October 26th event.

Fueling the speculations, Intel Kaby Lake is said to have a release date in Spring next year, HNGN wrote. Hence, it is in the year 2017 that we should expect a battle between Apple and Microsoft devices.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 expected specifications

There is no doubt that Microsoft will equip its Surface Pro 5 with lots of improvements including faster performance as it's rumored to pair Redstone 2 with Kaby Lake. The upgraded Surface Pen will get new technology and be rechargeable. There is no word about the pricing but potential buyers can expect price between $899 and $1800. 

What will Microsoft showcase during October event?

It will emphasize on hardware developments. For instance, Microsoft has been reportedly working on Surface AIO and is expected to introduce new keyboards and mouse. The company will also go through details of Windows 10 updates, MsPowerUser reported. Hopefully, Microsoft will share some good news about Redstone 2 - which is rumored to be used in Surface Pro 5. The NYC event might also reveal some information about Xbox-related topic.
