By

Samsung launched the 2016 edition for both, Galaxy J5 and Galaxy A3. Let's check out the specs review!

Samsung Galaxy J5 vs Galaxy A3: Design

Galaxy A3 2016 is literally lighter with 132 grams and slimmer with dimensions of 134.5 x 65.2 x 7.3 mm. Galaxy J5 2016 has bigger screen display, with 159 grams of weight and 145.8 x 72.3 x 8.1 mm of dimensions, GSM Arena wrote.

For those looking for a lavish design in a smartphone, Galaxy A3 has that premium feel. Samsung packs Galaxy A3 with all-metal body and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. Galaxy J5 uses plastic material for the chassis and no protection for its screen.

Samsung Galaxy J5 vs Galaxy A3: Hardware and software

Galaxy J5 has bigger screen, sporting 5.2 inch screen with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and 282 ppi pixel density.

Galaxy A3 sports 4.7 inch screen with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and higher pixel density of 312 ppi. Higher pixel density does add sharpness but Galaxy J5 offers bigger screen which some users find it better in term of user experience.

Under the hood of Galaxy J5 2016, it runs Android Marshmallow with Snapdragon 410 Quad core 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 processor. Galaxy A3 2016 still runs Lollipop but it is upgradable to Marshmallow. The device uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 and Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 processor.

Both smartphones offer 16 GB of storage but Galaxy J5 has 2 GB of RAM - bigger than Galaxy A3 with only 1.5 GB of RAM. And Galaxy A3 has no dedicated slot for your memory expansion. The hybrid phone uses its second SIM card slot to place the MicroSD.

Both 2016 edition phones sport 13 MP/ 5 MP cameras along with LED flash and touch focus. Other components include Bluetooth 4.1 and no fingerprint sensor. They are not for VR either.

Samsung Galaxy J5 has considerably larger battery capacity with its 3,100 mAh removable cell. Galaxy A3 gets 2,300 mAh battery, non removable.

Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 edition wins in many ways over the 2016 edition of Galaxy A3. It's got bigger screen, RAM and battery with cheaper price than Galaxy A3.
