Google Nexus 2016 Release Date Confirmed For Q3 2016 Alongwith Android Nougat [RUMORS]

By

Amidst a slew of Google Nexus 2016 related rumors and speculations already doing rounds, a recently-surfaced leak gives us a preview of what the most-awaited phone will actually look like.

The image unveils a dual-tone black on black design with the letter "G" adorning the back, however it may be not be part of the finished device. In addition, the purported smartphone will be housed in an aluminium body, and boast a glass back casing that forms major part of the frame.

Although,  this hasn't been confirmed via any news release whether or not the final design will sport the HTC logo in the Google Nexus 2016 phone, the chances of this happening is very thin, Android Police, the site that published the aforementioned render reported.

While it remains to be seen if the rumored Nexus smartphone sports the HTC logo, the leaked image shows the device's striking resemblance with the HTC EVO.

Taking into consideration that Google has neither confirmed nor denied any of these speculations, it seems logical to take these rumors with a grain of salt. That being said, one thing that doesn't need a confirmation is that the next-gen Nexus devices are in the works at Google.

Google Nexus 2016 And Android Nougat

The search engine giant is busy prepping the much-awaited release of Android 7.0 Nougat.

Several online tech publications have cited reliable sources to report that the looming Nexus devices will be manufactured by HTC and will follow its pattern of delivering excellent specs coupled with pure Android experience.

Just like last year, Google is reportedly working on a couple of smartphones this year as well. However, rumors mills have churned out speculations hinting both the devices will be HTC-made. Also, the devices will be comparatively smaller than their current-gen Nexus offerings with 5-inch and 5.5-inch models replacing the 5.2-inch and 5.7-inch devices that are currently available in the market.

A slew of other reports have claimed that the devices are codenamed HTC Marlin M1 and HTC Sailfish S1 internally.

Rumor mills are already swirling speculations around the larger models (Marlin) hinting the device packs some serious firepower, TimesOfIndia reported.

Although newest rumors doing rounds hint some sort of shakeup in the works, Google is slated to take the wraps off the Google Nexus devices sometime soon. Avid Nexus fans have anticipated that Google will stick to the already-established timeline and will announce the new devices sometime in September and then finally put them up for grabs a few weeks later in October this year.

If these rumors proved to be true, things may be very different this time around citing the upcoming Android Nougat.

The imminent OS from Google is reportedly on track to be launched in the third quarter of this year, and will probably hit the shelves sometime in August.

Google is known to debut new, full-fledged versions of the Android OS along with the Nexus phones, and if the company follows its pattern this time around as well, the Nexus devices could hit the markets alongside the Android Nougat in August.

However, if there's any truth these rumblings online still remains to be seen.
