Harvard University tops the list of colleges with the wealthiest alumni, according to a Private Wealth Survey.

This comes as no surprise at all, considering President Barack Obama and former President John F. Kennedy graduated from there. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, were also part of the prestigious Ivy League but soon dropped out of college.

2013 Wealth-X Survey found that the Boston College has so far produced 52 billionaires with a collective fortune of $205 billion. Although the campus is filled with rich kids who mostly inherit wealth, 74 percent of the school's billionaire alumni built self-made business.

"It shows the power of networks," said David Friedman, president of Wealth-X. "Harvard has this entrenched, powerful network that extends across so many sectors and is incredibly pro-active about connecting its alumni. You get a great education but you also get access," CNBC reports.

The survey of 70,000 millionaires around the world found that United States dominated the list with eight universities with the highest number of rich alumni. The remaining is based in the United Kingdom.

Harvard is then followed by its own graduate business school.

Harvard Business School, HBS, features notable alumni including Michael Bloomberg - former New York City Mayor and founder of Bloomberg LP - and David Rockefeller - the CEO of Chase Manhattan Bank among others.

As of today, Bloomberg's estimated net worth is $34.2 billion and his personal fortune went up by $6 billion since last year, largely credited to the performance of Bloomberg LP. The 71-year-old former mayor owns 88 percent of the financial data firm that generated $8.3 billion in 2013 revenues.

Bloomberg owns at least 10 homes in Manhattan, Westchester County, Bermuda, Vail and the Hamptons, Forbes reports.

He was named the 13th richest person in the world in Forbes magazine's annual ranking from the 20th spot last year after.

"I've never liked any of these lists," Bloomberg said. "A lot of my friends who are on the list are phenomenally generous and they're supporting an awful lot of hospitals and scholarships and that sort of thing, which they should be very proud of," NY daily News reports.

At No. 3 is Stanford University. The founders of Internet search engine Google - Sergey Brin and Larry Page - and actress Sigourney Weaver are alumni of the Californian University.
