iFixit company does things that other companies can't even think of doing, and that is to tear down the latest and expensive devices apart. Apple's new iMac and MacBook Pro have fallen victim to the expert tinkerers of iFixit. As expected, the MacBook Pro 2017 is virtually irreparable, while the iMac 2017 is a tad more repairable.

When it comes to repairability, Apple's MacBook Pro 2017 is similar to its predecessor, which means the device is almost impossible to repair. The only difference of the MacBook Pro 2017 to its predecessor is the new central processing unit (CPU). Wherein, everything else inside the MacBook Pro 2017 is practically the same as before, 9to5 Mac reported.

Also, the Touch Bar of the MacBook Pro is even more difficult to deal with. MacBook Pro 2017's Touch Bar feature cannot be removed safely just like it was with the MacBook Pro 2016. The iFixit gave the MacBook Pro 2017 a 1 out 10 repairability score. In spite of that, there are three notable things about Apple's new MacBook Pro, the Kaby Lake processors, improved graphics and a new, lower price for the entry-level model, Mac World reported.

Meanwhile, iFixit discovered that Apple's iMac 2017 is actually repairable only to some extent. The teardown of the iMac 2017 made it known that the 4K 21.5-inch variant scored three points on the Repairability Test.

The teardown revealed that iMac 2017's RAM and processor were removable. The parts were not soldered onto the logic board unlike what the Cupertino based tech giant did with its previous iMacs. Nonetheless, the iMac 2017 still has a low score due to the degree of difficulty in dismantling the other parts.

In spite of that, the iMac 2017 21.5-inch model has up to 32GB of RAM available. On the other hand, the 21.5-inch 4K version of the iMac will be available with a 4K display and up to 4GB of VRAM.
