A new leak has revealed that Microsoft's new Surface Pro is on the way, but it is not the device that tech enthusiasts have been hoping to see. Microsoft device chief Panos Panay recently stated that there's no such thing as a Microsoft Surface Pro 5, but Panay emphasized that the company is not done with the product line just yet.

Tech insider Evan Blass recently shared several images showing on all sides of Microsoft's new Surface Pro, which the tech giant will unveil in its Shanghai event on May 23. The tech insider pointed out that the device will not be the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, Venture Beat reported.

The highly anticipated Microsoft device will be a refresh of last year's Microsoft Surface Pro 4. Microsoft's new Surface Pro is said to adopt the current-gen's design with the upgrades made under its hood.

Microsoft keynote star Panay may have been telling the truth about the fact that the tech company will not announce a Surface Pro 5 at the Shanghai event. The tech giant might stop using numbers for its hardware, a move that would make total sense, considering the fact that Apple Inc. is doing the same thing with its laptops, BGR reported.

In spite of that, the most obvious technological development of Microsoft's new Surface Pro will be in the processor department. While the 14nm Kaby Lake processor is already available, the soon to be released Surface Pro will surely have that processor under its hood.

Furthermore, the Core i5 base model of Microsoft's new Surface Pro will likely have an $899 price tag. The higher end Core i7 models will likely be worth around $999 and $1,599. The new Microsoft Surface Pro will arrive with new colors for the keyboard and pen accessories that will be similar to the Surface Laptop colors.
