Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus on U.S. carriers Sprint, Verizon and AT&T can now get the Android 7.0 Nougat. The Android 7.0 Nougat update will just be available for the Galaxy S6 series, but the latest update will soon be launched to all compatible models.

Sprint was one of the first U.S. carriers to launch the Android 7.0 Nougat update to Samsung Galaxy handsets and Sprint recently added the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge on their list. Samsung Galaxy S6 owners will be getting the firmware version G920PVPU4DQC7, while the G925PVPU4DQC7 firmware build version rolls out to the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. The Android 7.0 Nougat update is 1.1GB in size and users are advised to have an ample free space to successfully download the update, Phone Arena reported

Meanwhile, AT&T has yet to pitch in the Android 7.0 Nougat update changelog for the Galaxy Note 5. Nonetheless, the build number for the Android 7.0 Nougat update has been provided. The update number for the Galaxy Note 5 is NRD90M with 1.4GB file size along with the March 2017 Android security patches.

On the other hand, the Android 7.0 Nougat update is finally making its way to Sprint's HTC One M9 smartphone. The Android 7.0 Nougat update for HTC One M9 smartphone is just over 1GB in size, and comes along with various improvements. The upgrade of One M9 smartphone includes unspecified system performance enhancements, NEO Win reported

Unfortunately, the Android 7.0 Nougat update for HTC One M9 smartphone doesn't include the latest April Android security patch. Instead, the One M9 smartphone is only getting the February Android security patches, leaving the handset vulnerable to other security issues.

That being said, Samsung is said to be testing some  Android 7.1 Nougat build for its Galaxy devices. In spite of that, it remains to be seen whether the tech giant rolls out that build to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
